01

When to visit

Uganda is a year-round destination. The drier seasons, generally June to August and December to February, can make safaris and trekking easier. Wetter months bring lush scenery; pack suitable rain gear.

02

Permits and bookings

Gorilla and chimpanzee trekking permits are limited and should be arranged in advance. Check availability, age requirements and current fees with Ugandan authorities and your travel adviser before confirming your itinerary.

03

Visas and documents

Entry requirements depend on your nationality and may change. Check Uganda’s official immigration portal and make sure your passport is valid well ahead of your trip. Keep a secure copy of your travel documents.

04

Health and preparation

Speak with a qualified travel-health professional well before departure. They can advise you on vaccinations, malaria prevention and precautions suited to your circumstances. Bring comfortable shoes and clothing appropriate for your planned activities.
